Description

"Ladies snore as well, you know? Come to think of it, I wouldn't call Rave lady in the traditional sense anyway."

--- Commissioner
Commissioned by =lekadema. Includes her character, Coco and *Meepsa's character, Ravewing.

--- Technical
The picture served as an experiment for various things.

:bulletgreen: Believable sleeping/snoring animation, including comical mouth motion and involuntary leg motions, as well as overall movement of the pony. 3 hours
:bulletgreen: Rectangular magic effect for proper telekinesis of objects that aren't triangular. 2 hours
:bulletgreen: Fire animation that (as far as I am concerned) looks pretty decent. This also doubles as a copy/paste, asynchronous, particle based animation. 4 hours
:bulletgreen: Animated gramophone (available here). The light bars on the record actually wouldn't move, but I can't think of a more reliable way to show the movement. 1 hour

I would have used some transparency on the fire; I found it nicer when I turned every fire shape to 75% opaque. Also, the typical way to make a record seems like it's rotating, without rotating the light bars, would be to have the central label rotate and have the light bars just rock back and forth; this can be (somewhat) easily done by animating the rotation of an image drawn as if it was seen from the top, nested inside a group that transforms the top down view into a perspective one. I can post something to demonstrate the technique if you want.

But, no matter what, your work is impressive. I hope you don't mind that I took a look inside the SVG file Wink/Razz
